System Overview:

The public's safety, a company's profitability, a company's operations, and a company's employees can heavily rely on a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system within a Control Room; so, this system software has been designed with those key points in mind.  This software system has also been designed from an Operator's point of view, which can assist Operators with solving system problems in less time.  With a reduction in time to catch or prevent potential issues, that could mean an increase in public safety and an increase in profitability.  With continuous improvements, this system software can assist companies with becoming an even better supplier of natural gas, petroleum, water, and other products.

System Features:

Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) - The display screens can be fully customized.  This can include the layouts, colors, backgrounds, etc.

TCP/IP Communication - Have the ability to communicate with field equipment such as RTUs.  This depends on the device(s), but new ones can be added.

User Rolls - Features can be limited to certain users depending on their Access Level.  This is great for limiting access to sensitive information.

Elapsed Real Time Charts - Moving charts, on a time axis and based on instantaneous data polling, can be updated on specified intervals for interactive charting visualizations.

Historicals - Instantaneous, hourly, and daily historical data can be displayed for easy analysis.  Historical data visualizations may include charts, tables, and the ability to export the numerical data.  The historical data depends on what the Remote Terminal Unit stores and obtains.

Alarms - Notifications can be setup based on alarm triggers, and alarm logging is also available.  Visual and audible notifications can be setup, including conditional visuals on the HMI screens, and pop-up window notifications.

Text Messaging - Users can have the ability to receive text messages on their phone(s) when an alarm is triggered.*

Email Messaging - Users can have the ability to receive emails when an alarm is triggered.

ESRI's ArcGIS Integration - GIS mapping data can be easily displayed, so system maps can be readily available to Operators and Users.

Journal - Users can make entries to keep track of things such as:  important events, notifications, and system changes.  This is very helpful with 24-hour monitoring, because employees coming on shift can see what's happened while they were off duty.

UPcoming features:

IP Cameras - Users will have access to viewing IP cameras (CCTV) from remote locations.

Leak Detection - Computational pipeline monitoring (CPM) will help operators and supervisors identify potential leaks and problematic areas.
